One of the most popular tourist destinations in Chitrakoot Dham, Gupt Godavari is a cave system located 18 km from the main town. It is believed that Lord Ram and his brother Laxman lived in these caves and used the two large stone thrones found there. Visitors can walk through the caves barefoot, letting the cold water from the knee-high water levels align their inner chakras. The area surrounding the caves is also filled with souvenir shops.
