Sati Anusuya Ashram Chitrakoot Dham

The Sati Anusuya Ashram is a sacred site where the revered sage Atri and his wife Anusuya meditated and eventually rested. It is also believed that during their exile, Lord Ram and Mother Sita visited this ashram and Sita received teachings from Anusuya. The ashram is adorned with sculptures and artwork depicting legendary tales from India. It is known for its peaceful and quiet atmosphere, allowing visitors to pray, meditate, or simply appreciate the scenic beauty in solitude. According to legend, this region experienced a drought for ten years until Anasuya performed a difficult penance, bringing the River Mandakini down to earth.
